The ‘Protected Parks of South Australia’ is a digital Umbrella Project on the nature recording citizen science platform iNaturalist. It brings together in one place all the Collection Projects relating to the Protected Parks across South Australia.
Established in April 2019, it brings together iNaturalist Collection Projects for over 460 protected parks across the state, including:
- Conservation Parks
- Conservation Reserves
- Native Forest Reserves
- Game Reserves
- National Parks
- Private Nature Reserves
- Recreation Parks
- Regional Reserves
- Indigenous Protected Area
- Wilderness Protection Area
- Marine Parks
From this Umbrella Project you can click through to any protected park collection project to see what people are discovering and which species have been sighted.
If you are an iNaturalist contributor, please join the project to help promote the biodiversity of the protected parks of South Australia.
All observations submitted to iNaturalist are shared with the Atlas of Living Australia and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility to help scientists utilise your contributions.
